Pantry Makeover

I had a client who needed guidance on how to declutter and organize her pantry. After talking to them about their wants and needs, I came up with the plan on what they like to cook and/or bake. The family liked to cook more than bake so their cooking items were readily and visually available. They’re baking items we put up at the top as they don’t bake often. I maximized the space to add stackable containers if they choose to add more for their snack area and baking area down the road if needed. 

My process for pantry organizing:
1. Clear everything out and check for expirations. Dispose of items properly - recycle and garbage 
2. Categorize all the food from what’s left. 
3. Clean the area if needed. 
4. Add containers and other organizing items if needed.
5. Put the food back and arrange it to make items available and visual.

This will give you an outlook to see your food, easier to decide what to make, and know how much is left for your  grocery shopping trip and/or online order.

Wonderful Spaces

We were struggling with organization in our home as a result of the pandemic with kids at home, distance learning, working from home and lots of activities and shifting functions in the house. Additionally, we took on family belongings from deceased parents and felt like we were drowning in stuff. Cleaning was more difficult and took more time. Additionally, it was hard to carve out the time to tackle the organization projects ourselves. Not to mention it was challenging because there was an emotional element to the belongings given all the circumstances.

We decided to bring in Nicole to spend a few months of appointments every few weeks to provide organizing and decluttering support and expertise to help with the emotional blockage, time constraints and to bring in fresh eyes. We worked zone by zone and thinned out and created structure and order to daily living items as well as heirlooms and family treasures. Nicole brought a calm expertise to guide the process and knew just how to support the difficult task of thinning out sentimental objects. She took on the tasks that are often barriers to achieving order for us, such as helping to sell things or donate items. She also labeled and helped create structure and new order for our belongings. Now everything has a home and cleaning is much easier and less time consuming. It’s also easier for the kids to plug in and tidy up on a daily bases.
